  Is trying to awaken a JW tantamount to "robbing him of his bliss"??

  last thursday i was propmpted by a recent thread to read the daily text (feb 28, 2013).

  i then had the audacity to send a text message to all four jw's nephews/nieces (in their mid 20's).

  i offered my opinion by summarizing it "put and shut up".

  Most young JWs are attracted from the wide social circle that a JW community can offer ,they don't understand many of the issues as they are well hidden.A safe amount of religiosity will hide them from their eyes for many years to come .It is only after they settle down have families that they might start questioning .Your text will be ignored by the conscious but will be engraved in the unconscious as a splinter ready to cause awakening at the right time under the right conditions

  My Bible Highlights Comment last night

  last night i gave a comment at the bible highlights, i never comment anymore unless i can say something that might plant a small seed in someones mind.. anyways the bible reading was mark 5-8. my comment was, "i appreciated mark 7:6-8 where it reads he said to them: isiah aptly prophesied about you hypocrites for it is written, this people honor me with their lips but their hearts are far removed from me.

  it is in vain they keep worshiping me, because they teach as doctrines, commands of men.

  letting go the command of god, you hold fast the traditions of men.

  You can help your congragation in many ways .I try all the following and work a treat :

  1. I never mention the phrase "faithful and discreet slave " or pray for them
  2. All my talks and highlights have only one objective :Tell the cong to think for themselves and accept only the Bible as the only authority .I use old Watchtowers so if I get asked I'm covered
  3. I'm bombading them with flyers in their cars ,houses concerning the main problems the JW's are faced today :united nations fiasco ,baptismal vows, Christ is not your mediator etc.
  4. I run my meetup made up of ex jws and christians and ,the group is growing every month

  What if you simply IGNORED being disfellowshipped and continued as before?

  i know this is an odd idea.

  maybe it is even silly.. but, i do daydream..... .

  what if you were informed that you are disfellowshipped and you flashed a huge smile and said, "nah.".

  Brilliant idea ,I thought of it too ,just completely ignore their protocol .Let's all get disfellowshiped and laugh in their face every week at the meeting

  My wife just told me to move out...

  because of "religious" differences, she now wants me to move out and "separate"...i said what biblical grounds does she have for her request?.

  she couldnt respond...she said she'd rather be beaten up by me than have an "apostate" in the house.... this org definitely encourages conditional love.... i don't know what to do...by the way, we dont have children.

  I'm so sorry you have to go through this ,I had to work slowly with my wife .Too much too soon is dangerous for people who have been indoctrinated for years .It takes time .As everyone else said ,stick to your guns ,don't move out ,ask legal advice and stop talking to her about religion .Only time will tell but I hope everything works out for you .All my love and thoughts goes out to you ,I will pray fro you brother ,have courtage

  well i think the borg crossed the line with many of the r&f.

  met a young woman at a class i take come to find out she and her husband are recent ex-jws.

  they were both born-ins and they felt the printing company is taking too many liberties and that many in the khs are not talking about it... just leaving.

  Only at the Minsterial Training School for elders and servants they will openly say that you can't serve as an elder if you promote higher education within your family .Intrestingly they won't say any of that on their website .Double standards

  theredeemer, the doctrinal issues is something that dosn't bother then the atheist EX-JW's but both classes should agree that INFORMATION CONTROL ,MANIPULATION AND OUTRIGHT REWRITING OF HISTORY along with EXTREME DISFELLOWSHIPPING are human rights that need to be fought and they can be the common ground for both classes,do you agree?

  The one who will destroy Babylon the Great is Jesus ,but that doesn't mean that one has to quit exposing them .Jesus overturned the tables in the temple knowing fuill well that this will not bring the Pharisaic religious system to it's end ,still it showed that he cared .I do agree that there has to be a more concrete agenda with few and well chosen issues .My biggest two doctrinally are : 1) Baptised in the name of an organisation ,denying the power of the holly spirit and 2)Rejecting Jesus flesh and blood at the memorial .Both acts according to the Bible will lead you straight out of heaven. For that i'm willing to fight .I think the ex-jw community needs to act in harmony with the activists on the inside in order to intensify the pressure on these 8 Antichrists of New York .Paul was an ex merderer and so was Moses still that didn't stop them becoming leaders and doing good later on in their lives ...

  this question was inspired by a poster whose jw friend refused to be a reference for an apartment.

  i wonder if most jw's know deep down that they need to maintain some ties with non-jw's in case they find themselves either deciding to leave or ostracized for some reason..

  I knew this guy who left in the early 80's because he didn't accept the 607 chronology ,he didn't try to cause a problem ,he went about his business quietly .Problem was that his employer was JW and his wife was a JW too. Man ,did they percecute him like a dog? Name calling ,emotional blackmailing ,finally one extra active CO got his employer to sack him because his was an apostate .This place wasn't easy to find another job .I still remember him .All that time I thought he was a nasty apostate .These bastards I'll never forget for telling us lies ...
